Water play with Xiao Yu
Water play with 小雨...
A Saturday's activities without Kirin are pretty predictable.

Breakfast, water play, bathtime, lunch, nap. Well, Yang feels safe with routines. Nevertheless, a happy 小雨 is crucial to making life easier, especially when Kirin's not around. I thought of ways to make things a little less mundane...

Water play! We played tossing coin (something new) and catching it with a small wash basin. Not too innovative but enough to excite 小雨.

"Helpyou!" 小雨 requested Mama to form ripples in the water with the wash basin.
Bathtime! 小雨 had a phobia of getting her hair washed. I tried to distract her by letting her play with my small pinkie bottle of hair conditioner.

A fresh out-of-the-shower 小雨 dressed up and waiting for the lift, merrily. We're just walking to the nearby Kopitiam to dabao lunch though...

"Baby.." she cradled my clutch bag as if it were a baby.

Lunch. She said "dropping" when her food got scooped up to the edge of her bowl, then onto her clothes and highchair. Yes, my girl's feeding herself now. She refused to be fed by Mama anyway. Scraps of food ended up on her clothes, highchair tray, floor, on her cheek but most got into her mouth and digested in her tummy.

Took out some photo stands we had made for her 1-year old birthday party to display in the bedroom. 小雨 pointed to Mama in the picture and called out "Mommy mommy!" delightfully. Loved the way she sounds.
"Come.." she held out her little palm, waiting for mine to lay on hers. On the playmat, 小雨 tugged at my legs to "sit properly" like her, as she crossed her legs and arms. She sure knows her school manners.

I hadn't had a square of Frey, but watching 小雨 grow up day by day gives me a bittersweet feeling.

Naptime. We cuddled in bed and overslept! O no.. Glad the prospective buyers were able to wait for 小雨 and I, for a 2nd viewing. I wonder if they would be the next owners of our green home?

Reunited with papa Kirin and today's adventure starts not at the little castle in Ben and Holly's Little Kingdom...

I spiced up my otherwise mundane day with an overpowering cup of Chai masala latte (of Indian spices and herbs), and grilled seabass spaghetti in lemongrass chilli sauce at Cedele. The outlet we used to frequent before we shifted.

A "feet swinger?" at a Fitness & gym station
This got my feet rooted to the ground but the world swinging under my feet now. Kirin made me try it and it was an unexpected little thrill. This "feet-swinger" ain't meant for Yang who loses concentration easily when immersed in deep thoughts. Bet my feet would either fly off the swing or I might end up tearing my muscles in the swiftest dance split.

He doesn't colour my life like the way "Smiggle" does for 小雨. Rather, he gets me to seek and embrace colours in simple things, perhaps unintentionally, by myself.

~ Enjoy the things that make you special ~

I love this story in the Hi-5 episode tonight, about the one-of-a-kind big peacock tail, big webbed duck feet and the big moose antlers. Things are the way they are for a reason.

"So funny!" 小雨 exclaimed, in the midst of chuckles, while monkeying around with Kirin in the bedroom.

And she laughed hysterically again, when she felt the touch of my fingers through a thin piece of wet washcloth on her tummy, before bedtime.

"So funny!" We exclaimed.

Contrary to the saying "proud as a peacock", the Hi-5 episode tonight and another of Aesop's Fable - The Peacock and Juno, seem to suggest that this bird isn't too pleased about its plumage.

Though it doesn't have the beautiful voice of the nightingale, nor soar high like a majestic eagle, it has a splendid fan of gorgeous tail feathers.

That's what makes it a peacock.

Not funny at all.
